Attention Beauty Lovers! I love skin care just as much as I love makeup. It is so important to take care of your skin and to have a nighttime skin care routine. Taking care of your skin gives you a great base to apply makeup to. Your foundation will look more flawless and you can even have more no makeup days.
I love switching up my skin care routine so that my skin doesn’t get too used to the same products. It is so fun to try new skin care products and find hidden gems. Keep reading to hear about some of my current favorite skin care products and to see my nighttime skin care routine.

Step 1: Remove Makeup
I love removing my makeup at the end of the day. It feels so amazing to take it all off. I vary the ways I remove my makeup; however, I ALWAYS make sure that I take all my makeup off. Currently, I am loving micellar waters or a cleansing oil to remove my makeup. Sometimes I use makeup wipes to remove my makeup if I am in a rush. They do a great job at quickly removing makeup.
I am out of my favorite eye makeup remover (Touch in Sol Mission Complete Waterproof Sensitive Lip & Eye Perfect Cleanser), so I have been using micellar water or Burts Bees Eye Makeup Remover Pads to remove my eye makeup. They do a pretty good job, but I am totally going to have to pick up my favorite eye makeup remover soon. It seriously is so amazing and it makes taking eye makeup off a breeze.
Step 2: Wash Face
After I remove my makeup, I wash my face using a face wash. Most days, I vary which face wash I use. The face washes that I currently use are:
- Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser
- TOSOWOONG Enzyme Powder Wash
- Mellisa B Naturally Cleansing Milk
I really enjoy all the above cleansers and love how well they wash my face. Whenever I get new cleanser samples or a new cleanser, I will swap out one of the above cleansers.
Step 3: Exfoliate
Every other day, I will exfoliate my skin. This step really helps to deep clean my skin and get rid of dead skin cells. It also keeps me from breaking out. I am currently testing Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant*.
Protect your skin against environmental pollutants with Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant. This powerful resurfacer is optimal for everyday use, unveiling smoother and more purified skin. Active ingredients like enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids travel deep into the pores to flush out harmful pollutants that lead to premature aging.
You can use this exfoliant every day. However, I have been using it every other day. You apply about 1/2 tablespoon to wet hands to form a paste. It is a dark powder and quickly forms a paste. Once the paste is formed, you massage it into the skin for about a minute and rinse off.
My skin feell so smooth and exfoliated after using. It doesn’t sting or irritate my skin at all. I just love how my skin feels after using this product. My skin looks radiant and super clean. I highly recommend trying it and I will definitely continue using it!
Step 4: Mask
A few times a week I will use a facial mask. I also participate in a Mask Monday Challenge (be sure to check it out and join us). Masks are a great way to amp up your skin care and they provide added benefits to the skin.
I will vary between using hydrating sheet masks and deep cleansing masks. Masks are one of my favorite steps in my skin care routine and I have so many favorites. I will have to dedicate an entire post to my favorite masks.
Step 5: Facial Mist
I love spraying my face with a facial mist. It feels so refreshing and adds some hydration back to the skin. I am currently using the Tula Urban Defense Hydrating Mist and I really enjoy it. It is very refreshing and sinks into the skin very quickly.
Step 6: Essence/Toner
After I spritz on my facial mist, I will apply an essence or a toner. This step adds additional hydration or ensures that your face is free from any dirt/oils. It also preps the skin for serums and moisturizers. I have been using Jurlique Activating Water Essence for a long time. One bottle lasts me forever because I only need a couple drops. I press the products into my skin using my fingers.
Step 7: Serum
Serums are an important step in any skin care routine. I switch out my serums pretty frequently. They are jam packed with beneficial ingredients for the skin. The serum I am currently using is La Roche-Posay Rosaliac AR Intense. This is a great serum for calming redness. I just love how it makes my skin feel and it really does help with redness.
Step 8: Eye Cream
It is so important not to forget the delicate eye area. The eye area is one of the first places to show signs of aging. Therefore, it is important to take care of this part of the face. I switch out my eye creams frequently because I love trying new ones. I am always on the hunt for my perfect eye cream. Let me know your favorites in the comments below!
Step 9: Moisturizer
A good moisturizer is so important. Moisturizers add so many beneficial ingredients to the skin. They also protect your skin during the night. Again, I switch out my moisturizers frequently. However, I am currently using Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream. This moisturizer is amazing and makes my skin feel so soft. It also gives my skin a gorgeous healthy glow without being oily.
Step 10: Facial Oil
The final step in my nighttime skin care routine is to apply a facial oil. A facial oil helps seal in all the products underneath. It really helps all the products to sink further into the skin and adds a second layer of protection. I have noticed huge differences in my skin once I started using facial oils. All my products work so much better and my skin is happy. I am a huge fan of the Tarte Maracuja Oil. It is amazing and I only need 1-2 drops.
