Attention Beauty and Fitness Lovers. I am going to be starting a healthy lifestyle and I decided I will be blogging the entire process. I started Everything & Nothin’ to share all aspects of my life and passions. I have completely neglected the fitness part of my blog…Chubby Girl Gets Skinny. However, that is about to change! When I started this blog, I began a lifestyle change and lost a good amount of weight. However, I have now gained it all back and then some. Well, that stops NOW! This isn’t going to be a diet or fitness regimen…it is simply an entire lifestyle change. I wanted to share my progress and failures along the way. I know you all will keep me accountable and we can do this together. If you need to make a health change, I hope these posts inspire you and we can become one healthy Everything & Nothin’ family. I have mapped out my measurements which will be updated weekly/monthly. I have a goal section that will include a new food and fitness goal each week. I will keep a running count of these goals so you can start from the beginning with me. Each week I will be adding a new goal to accomplish in each category. In time, I may add more than one goal each week. However, I find the best way to change is to start one step at a time. The food section is my food diary. Pictures of what I ate for the day will be included here. And to finish off each post is the feelings sections. Here I will discuss how I am feeling and how I did with the current week’s goals. I will also give you inside into my personal life. This post is pretty much my health diary! I hope you will enjoy this journey and follow along with me. Even if you have a healthy lifestyle, we can still learn from each other. I would love to hear your weekly goals and any tips/tricks you have. I hope these posts are fun and inspirational to all of you! Let’s Get Moving!

Note: I am in no way a health/fitness expert. This is simply my journey and what I find works/doesn’t work for me.

Current Measurements

Goal: To lose 1 lb/week

My Stats:

  • Height: 5′ 7″
  • Age: 25

I gained weight last week! I am a bit discouraged. However, I know last week was a rough week for me. It is also about that time of the month so I am bloated. I am not going to beat myself up. This is the point where I would have given up and quit. Not this time! This is a lifestyle change and I will have ups and downs. I snacked way too much this past week and ate too much junk food. Therefore, this week’s goals will be reflective of last week’s issues. I will succeed with a healthy lifestyle. As they say, “Rome wasn’t built overnight.” My body will not change overnight. I am so glad I added strength training and my body feels a little sore from it. I love that feeling because I feel like my body is slowly changing.

It is also important to reward yourself for your accomplishments. I am going to be adding an award system each week. If I meet my goals each week, I will reward myself with a little treat! I hope you reward yourself (and not always a food reward) for your accomplishments.

This week I will reward myself by working harder. I didn’t accomplish all my goals last week so this week is catch up week. I want that reward so I am going to work harder!

Week 4 Goals

Food Goals:

Week 4: WOAH! Slow down on those unhealthy snacks!

This week I am going to slow down on all my snacking. It is important to have little snacks so you don’t overeat at meals. However, picking the right snack is important. I eat way too much candy and junk food. This week I am going to watch my snack consumption. I can have one unhealthy snack every other day. If I am hungry, it will be all about those fruit, veggies, and whole grains for snacks. Instead of reaching for peanut M&M’s I will reach for an apple or carrots. The previous week’s goals are still in effect.

Week 3: Limit fast food consumption to no more than 2x per week

Week 2: Add at least one vegetable a day

Week 1: Drink more water (only 1 nonwater beverage allowed per day)

Fitness Goals:

Week 4: Walk 30 minutes 3 times per week. Add in 10 minutes of strength training 1x this week.

Fitness is so important and moving keeps your body functioning its best. It has been months since I have worked out so I am starting small. I am adding onto last weeks goal. I will be walking 30 minutes 3x this week. I am also going to continue strength training. Strength training is important to any fitness routine. As the weeks progress, my fitness routine will become more aggressive as my body gets strong.

Note: Before pictures will be coming soon! I can’t wait to see my progress along the way! And I can’t wait to hear/see yours!

Lifestyle Goals:

I will also be adding a lifestyle goal each week. I think it is important to improve your mind and personality too. A lifestyle change encompasses all aspects of your life. Remember: This is a lifetime journey!

Week 1 + 2 + 3: Wake Up By 6:30AM M-F

I really want to start waking up earlier. I get so much more done in the morning. Waking up earlier will also help with my fitness goal. I won’t be rushed and will have time to properly workout. I didn’t accomplish this goal again so it is this week’s goal too. It is going to happen! I am going to start waking up 1/2 hour earlier each day until this goal is reached!

  • 2 slices cinnamon toast with butter
  • Chobani  “Crunch” Chocolate Strawberry
  • Chips and Salsa
  • Pepsi (one nonwater beverage)

  • Ham and Swiss Cheese Sandwich
  • Trail Mix
  • Goldfish Cinnamon
  • Apple

  • Broccoli
  • Chicken Fettuccini
  • Ice Cream (later)

I was recently sent some amazing chocolate from National Brand Endangered Species Chocolate (ESC) to try.  Dark Chocolate bar with Carmel and Sea Salt  – dubbed the “Eagle bar.” Purchases of the Eagle bar will send support to help protect at-risk species – ESC donates 10 percent of net profits annually to partnering conservation organizations. I mean come on…who doesn’t love chocolate?! This chocolate is so gorgeous and I love the eagle on the packaging. I love that each purchased bar of chocolate goes to support a great cause. The chocolate was delicious and the caramel inside was awesome. It is a runny caramel and went well with the dark chocolate. My mom loved it as well! I highly recommend purchasing one! You can enjoy a delicious bar of chocolate and feel great that you are supporting a wonderful cause.

Endangered Species Chocolate Debuts Dark Chocolate with Caramel and Sea Salt Bar

Available now on, available in Kroger and natural food stores early February

INDIANAPOLIS – A top-selling brand in the natural food category, Endangered Species Chocolate (ESC) announces the debut of its newest flavor, Dark Chocolate with Caramel and Sea Salt. Spotlighting the American Bald Eagle on the wrapper, this rich dark chocolate surrounds handcrafted, organic caramel with Pink Himalayan Sea Salt.

Dubbed the “Eagle bar,” this chocolate bar is Fairtrade International certified, Non-GMO Project Verified and gluten-free. As with all of its products, ESC committed significant time, resources and research into the development of this new product.

“The balance of sweet, salty and caramelized undertones speaks to the demands of our customers,” said Whitney Bembenick, Research and Development Manager for Endangered Species Chocolate. “When paneled, nine out of 10 consumers stated they would likely purchase the Eagle bar.”

Beneficial as it is delicious, purchases of the new Eagle bar and ESC’s other wild flavors send support to help protect at-risk species. ESC donates 10 percent of net profits annually to partnering conservation organizations. The current 10% GiveBack partners are Rainforest Trust and Wildlife Conservation Network.
As a Steward sponsor of The Peregrine Fund, ESC collaborated with the 501(c)(3) nonprofit to utilize the inside of the Eagle bar wrapper to tell the story of how Endangered Species Act protections have helped American Bald Eagle populations make a remarkable recovery.

“All Endangered Species Chocolate bars come with a promise to support species, habitat, and humanity,” said Curt Vander Meer, CEO of Endangered Species Chocolate. “This promise has translated into 1.2 million dollars donated to support conservation over the past 3 years.”

The Eagle bar is currently available on in bulk (packs of 12), and will be available in Kroger and other natural food stores across the U.S. in early February 2016. More information is available on ESC’s website,

Accomplishments / Feelings

I am so happy to be starting a lifestyle change. I had a delicious breakfast and lunch. They were both very filling and I feel like I am staying full longer. Although I did have a Pepsi for breakfast. I felt like treating myself today. I had an unhealthy dinner! I went out with my mom because I was so down from saying bye to everyone today. I will get back on track tomorrow.

I didn’t work out today.  However, I definitely got a work out in at work. I did so many squats lifting heavy boxes. We lifted about 260 boxes (weighing at least 30lbs) the past two days. I was sweating so much! I didn’t wake up at 6:30am! However, I did wake up earlier! I woke up at 7:00am. I will accomplish 6:30am next week!

The lovely Brie from Laqing in Creativity is joining me in this journey. It is so important to encourage others and I would love to have all of you join me (even if you aren’t a blogger).
