Attention Beauty and Fitness Lovers. I am going to be starting a healthy lifestyle and I decided I will be blogging the entire process. I started Everything & Nothin’ to share all aspects of my life and passions. I have completely neglected the fitness part of my blog…Chubby Girl Gets Skinny. However, that is about to change! When I started this blog, I began a lifestyle change and lost a good amount of weight. However, I have now gained it all back and then some. Well, that stops NOW! This isn’t going to be a diet or fitness regimen…it is simply an entire lifestyle change. I wanted to share my progress and failures along the way. I know you all will keep me accountable and we can do this together. If you need to make a health change, I hope these posts inspire you and we can become one healthy Everything & Nothin’ family. I have mapped out my measurements which will be updated weekly/monthly. I have a goal section that will include a new food and fitness goal each week. I will keep a running count of these goals so you can start from the beginning with me. Each week I will be adding a new goal to accomplish in each category. In time, I may add more than one goal each week. However, I find the best way to change is to start one step at a time. The food section is my food diary. Pictures of what I ate for the day will be included here. And to finish off each post is the feelings sections. Here I will discuss how I am feeling and how I did with the current week’s goals. I will also give you inside into my personal life. This post is pretty much my health diary! I hope you will enjoy this journey and follow along with me. Even if you have a healthy lifestyle, we can still learn from each other. I would love to hear your weekly goals and any tips/tricks you have. I hope these posts are fun and inspirational to all of you! Let’s Get Moving!

Note: I am in no way a health/fitness expert. This is simply my journey and what I find works/doesn’t work for me.

Current Measurements

Goal: To lose 1 lb/week

My Stats:

  • Height: 5′ 7″
  • Age: 25

I gained weight last week! I am a bit discouraged. However, I know last week was a rough week for me. It is also about that time of the month so I am bloated. I am not going to beat myself up. This is the point where I would have given up and quit. Not this time! This is a lifestyle change and I will have ups and downs. I snacked way too much this past week and ate too much junk food. Therefore, this week’s goals will be reflective of last week’s issues. I will succeed with a healthy lifestyle. As they say, “Rome wasn’t built overnight.” My body will not change overnight. I am so glad I added strength training and my body feels a little sore from it. I love that feeling because I feel like my body is slowly changing.

It is also important to reward yourself for your accomplishments. I am going to be adding an award system each week. If I meet my goals each week, I will reward myself with a little treat! I hope you reward yourself (and not always a food reward) for your accomplishments.

This week I will reward myself by working harder. I didn’t accomplish all my goals last week so this week is catch up week. I want that reward so I am going to work harder!

Week 4 Goals

Food Goals:

Week 4: WOAH! Slow down on those unhealthy snacks!

This week I am going to slow down on all my snacking. It is important to have little snacks so you don’t overeat at meals. However, picking the right snack is important. I eat way too much candy and junk food. This week I am going to watch my snack consumption. I can have one unhealthy snack every other day. If I am hungry, it will be all about those fruit, veggies, and whole grains for snacks. Instead of reaching for peanut M&M’s I will reach for an apple or carrots. The previous week’s goals are still in effect.

Week 3: Limit fast food consumption to no more than 2x per week

Week 2: Add at least one vegetable a day

Week 1: Drink more water (only 1 nonwater beverage allowed per day)

Fitness Goals:

Week 4: Walk 30 minutes 3 times per week. Add in 10 minutes of strength training 1x this week.

Fitness is so important and moving keeps your body functioning its best. It has been months since I have worked out so I am starting small. I am adding onto last weeks goal. I will be walking 30 minutes 3x this week. I am also going to continue strength training. Strength training is important to any fitness routine. As the weeks progress, my fitness routine will become more aggressive as my body gets strong.

Note: Before pictures will be coming soon! I can’t wait to see my progress along the way! And I can’t wait to hear/see yours!

Lifestyle Goals:

I will also be adding a lifestyle goal each week. I think it is important to improve your mind and personality too. A lifestyle change encompasses all aspects of your life. Remember: This is a lifetime journey!

Week 1 + 2 + 3: Wake Up By 6:30AM M-F

I really want to start waking up earlier. I get so much more done in the morning. Waking up earlier will also help with my fitness goal. I won’t be rushed and will have time to properly workout. I didn’t accomplish this goal again so it is this week’s goal too. It is going to happen! I am going to start waking up 1/2 hour earlier each day until this goal is reached!

  • Slice cinnamon toast with butter
  • Kettle Corn 100 Calorie
  • Chobani Flip in Key Lime
  • V8 Splash Berry Blend (one nonwater beverage)

  • Tukey and Provolone Cheese Sandwich
  • Trail Mix
  • Goldfish Cinnamon
  • Carrots
  • Had a couple oatmeal cookies at work

  • Ham and Cheese Sandwich
  • Clementine
  • Lays Baked BBQ Chips

Accomplishments / Feelings

I am so happy to be starting a lifestyle change. I had a delicious breakfast and lunch. They were both very filling and I feel like I am staying full longer. I had a pretty good dinner! It felt great to eat after working out!

I did my 30-minute walk today. I really love walking and getting the blood flowing. I use this time as “me time.”  I didn’t wake up at 6:30am! However, I did wake up earlier! I woke up at 7:25am. I hope to wake up by 7:00am tomorrow. It is getting a bit earlier each day which is awesome! I can do this!

The lovely Brie from Laqing in Creativity is joining me in this journey. It is so important to encourage others and I would love to have all of you join me (even if you aren’t a blogger). Make sure you follow her along in her journey here! She is so lovely and I am just beyond proud of her. We are also working on a project for June that will make it easy for you all to join us! It will be like one big lifestyle change family. If you are a blogger, it will also be a way to gain more exposure. I can’t wait to share it with you all! I want it to be a place where women and men of all sizes can come and share their journey! Everyone will be welcome!

Today’s Thought-Provoking Question:

Q:  What is one thing you wish you had known at 21?

A: There are so many things I wish I would have known at 21. But to pick one, I would say that I wish I would have waited to start dating. Guys were such a priority in my life back then and they didn’t’ need to be. I wish I would have focused more on being young and enjoying life. What about you? What do you wish you would have known at 21?

I can’t believe today was my last day at my normal job. My heart is so heavy and saddened. I am going to miss everyone so terribly much! Tomorrow I have to finish packing up some boxes and then I will be on the floor to help close the store. It seriously breaks my heart. However, I look forward to seeing what new doors open for my career life.

I am so excited to be starting Week 4 of this journey. I really can’t believe it is already week 4! I also can’t wait to completely set up my new project for this series. I know you all will love it! I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us all. Anyway, I am excited for this week and the new goals. Make sure you check out Brie’s post and follow her journey and goals. Also, if you would like to join us…let us know! The more the merrier. I can even email you a templet you can copy, paste, and fill in. Even if you don’t need to lose weight, you can join us. We will gladly accept any tips and knowledge fitness experts bring. Or if you have other areas of your life that need improving, this lifestyle change is for you too! I can’t wait to see what is in store for all of us throughout this journey. I am excited to be living my life again! I would love to hear what all you did today and ate!
