Attention Beauty and Fitness Lovers. I am going to be starting a healthy lifestyle and I decided I will be blogging the entire process. I started Everything & Nothin’ to share all aspects of my life and passions. I have completely neglected the fitness part of my blog…Chubby Girl Gets Skinny. However, that is about to change! When I started this blog, I began a lifestyle change and lost a good amount of weight. However, I have now gained it all back and then some. Well, that stops NOW! This isn’t going to be a diet or fitness regimen…it is simply an entire lifestyle change. I wanted to share my progress and failures along the way. I know you all will keep me accountable and we can do this together. If you need to make a health change, I hope these posts inspire you and we can become one healthy Everything & Nothin’ family. I have mapped out my measurements which will be updated weekly/monthly. I have a goal section that will include a new food and fitness goal each week. I will keep a running count of these goals so you can start from the beginning with me. Each week I will be adding a new goal to accomplish in each category. In time, I may add more than one goal each week. However, I find the best way to change is to start one step at a time. The food section is my food diary. Pictures of what I ate for the day will be included here. And to finish off each post is the feelings sections. Here I will discuss how I am feeling and how I did with the current week’s goals. I will also give you inside into my personal life. This post is pretty much my health diary! I hope you will enjoy this journey and follow along with me. Even if you have a healthy lifestyle, we can still learn from each other. I would love to hear your weekly goals and any tips/tricks you have. I hope these posts are fun and inspirational to all of you! Let’s Get Moving!
Note: I am in no way a health/fitness expert. This is simply my journey and what I find works/doesn’t work for me.
Goal: To lose 1 lb/week
I lost 2.6lbs last week! I am just so happy! With just two small changes, I lost over 2lbs!
That is over the weight of this 2lb bag of peanuts. It feels so amazing to be making progress and starting small. Small changes lead to huge accomplishments. It is also important to reward yourself for your accomplishments. I am going to be adding an award system each week. If I meet my goals each week, I will reward myself with a little treat! I hope you reward yourself (and not always a food reward) for your accomplishments.
I am going to reward myself this week for last week’s accomplishments by renting a movie from Redbox!
Week 1 Goals
Week 2: Add at least one vegetable a day
I am so terrible at eating vegetables. They are not my favorite food. I do like them just not as much as other food. I really need to eat more veggies because they are so good for you. This week I am going to eat a least one serving of vegetables a day. I know I need more but one serving a day is a good place to start. I have been eating no veggies.
Week 1: Drink more water (only 1 nonwater beverage allowed per day)
Week 2: Walk 30 minutes 2 times per week and 15 minutes 1 time per week
Fitness is so important and moving keeps your body functioning its best. It has been months since I have worked out so I am starting small. I am adding onto last weeks goal. I will be walking 30 minutes 2x and 15 minutes 1x this week. As the weeks progress, my fitness routine will become more aggressive as my body gets strong.
Note: Before pictures will be coming soon! I can’t wait to see my progress along the way! And I can’t wait to hear/see yours!
I will also be adding a lifestyle goal each week. I think it is important to improve your mind and personality too. A lifestyle change encompasses all aspects of your life. Remember: This is a lifetime journey!
Week 1: Wake Up By 6:30AM M-F
I really want to start waking up earlier. I get so much more done in the morning. Waking up earlier, will also help with my fitness goal. I won’t be rushed and will have time to properly workout.
- Chobani Simply 100 Crunch Mango Cone Crisp
- Two pieces cinnamon toast with butter
- Hawaiian Punch (one nonwater beverage)
- LaComedia Dinner Buffet
Accomplishments / Feelings
I am so happy to be starting a lifestyle change. I did well with only drinking water. I am now starting to crave water again and I love it! I had a pretty healthy breakfast. I didn’t really eat lunch because I had such a late breakfast. I have been really down and haven’t felt like eating much. For dinner, I had LaComedia’s dinner buffet. LaComedia is a dinner theatre around where I live. I went with my mom, grandma, and cousins to see Grease. I love plays and enjoy spending time with my family!
I am really proud of accomplishing my goals this week. I drank mostly water and I did get in a lot more veggies. I still need to work on getting more veggies into my diet. I didn’t do well at waking up at 6:30 AM. Therefore, my goal for next week will be the same. I really need to just get my butt out of bed. I feel so much more accomplished when I wake up early.
Today’s Thought-Provoking Question:
Q: If you were a vegetable, what vegetable would you be?
A: Haha! This question makes me laugh and it is the perfect question to finish out the week (since my goal was to eat at least one veggie a day). I think I would be a pea. I love how little they are and that there are more than one in a peapod. It is like they are a little family and my family is so important to me. Being a pea would allow me to still be close to my family. And I love peas…they are delicious! What about you? What vegetable would you be?
I am excited to have accomplished week 2 of my new lifestyle. I can’t wait to see what week 3 holds. I really enjoy eating healthier and I can’t wait to continue to change the way I eat. I am also feeling so much better now that I am starting this lifestyle journey! I can’t wait to see what is in store for all of us throughout this journey. I am excited to be living my life again! I would love to hear what all you did today and ate! Share anything with me in the comments below!
