I love smokey eyes!! I think they look so sexy and beautiful. Therefore, today’s makeup look will be a smokey eye tutorial. I hope you enjoy it and feel free to leave pictures of your smokey eye looks in the comments. Have a BEAUTIFUL DAY!!
Smokey Eye Tutorial Before and After:
Smokey Eye Tutorial:
These are the products you will use to create this look.
Step 1: Add a sunscreen to your face to protect from the sun. I used Coola Classic Sunscreen in Fresh Mango.
Step 2: Prime your face using any type of face primer. This will prolong the wear of your makeup. I used SmashBox Photo Finish Primer.
Step 3: Apply a thin even layer of a light coverage foundation to the skin. You can build up the layers if you need more coverage. I used Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation in Ivory.
Step 4: Apply a concealer under the eyes to cover dark circles and brighten the under eye area. I used Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in Fair.
Step 5: Apply a face powder to set the makeup. I used Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder in Ivory.
Step 6: Apply an eyebrow pencil to fill in any sparse spots. I used Chella Tantalizing Taupe Eyebrow Color.
These are the initial steps to the face makeup. Click here to see a picture of how the makeup looks at this point.
Now onto the eyes:
Step 7: I am using Coastal Scents Revealed Palette to create this look.
1.) Apply this color below the brow bone.
2.) Apply this color in the crease as a transition shade.
Apply a black cream eye base. This will enhance the colors put on top and provides a guideline for where to apply the eye shadow. I line my lash line sloppily and then blend up. I used Revlon Luxurious Color Smokey Crayon in Black Smoke.
Note: this will look very messy, but don’t worry we will clean it up in the end.
3.) Apply this color to the outer corner of the eye and blend into the crease. Take your time here and really blend. It helps to use a fluffy eye brush to blend up.
4.) Apply this color with a pencil brush to the outer corner of the eye in a V shape and slightly blend. You don’t want this color too far in the crease.
5.) Apply this color to the inner half of the eyelid. This is the color that makes the eyes pop!
Now clean up the eyes by applying a concealer in a straight line from the end of the eye to the brow bone. Blend the concealer out.
Also, apply the eye base to the lower water-line and blend using whatever black eye shadow is left on the pencil brush.
Step 8: Apply winged liquid eyeliner. I used NYC Liquid Eyeliner in Black.
Step 9: Apply your favorite mascara to the top and bottom lashes. I used Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (personally I love the name).
This is what the finished eyes will look like!
Now to Finish the Face:
Step 10: Now to finish the face. Apply a bronzer around the edges of the face to bronze. I didn’t do a heavy contour because it is summer time and I was just going for a summery glow. I used NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny.
Step 11: Apply Blush to the apples of the cheek and sweep back to your hairline. I used Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in True Love.
Step 12: Apply a highlighter to the top of the cheek bones. I used Laura Geller Baked Highlighter in Golden Rose.
Step 13: Apply a light pink lipstick to the lips. I used Revlon Lipstick in Baby Pink.
Step 14: Apply a light pink lip gloss to the middle of the lip to create fuller lips. I used Julep Lip Gloss in Graceful.
